Top 100 automotive suppliers
For the first time ever Kongsberg Automotive made it into the prestigious top 100 list of global automotive suppliers compiled by Automotive news for 2013
Kongsberg Automotive was ranked in 99th place among global OEM parts suppliers, and the company also made it into the list of the top 100 suppliers in North America, claiming 98th position (with 35% of the company’s revenues in North America).
Being recognized on this prestigious list is important vis-a-vis customers and other business partners. The relevance and importance of size is becoming ever more apparent as the global automotive industry continues to crave bigger suppliers.
Indeed, global platforms are expected to account for 75% of light vehicle production volume by 2019 and suppliers will be required to support a wide range of global markets and can reap economies of scale.
Suppliers need to have critical mass to:

- Support high-volume vehicle platform
- Ride out recessions in key markets
