Kongsberg Automotive Trollhättan is the Center for Chassis Control Systems, responsible for the development of fail-operational steering technologies, advanced chassis functions and safety-critical vehicle control systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and autonomous vehicle applications.

The operations at this location were established in 2021 as Chassis Autonomy, building on Trollhättan’s long heritage in automotive engineering, vehicle dynamics and autonomous vehicle development.

The company then became part of Kongsberg Automotive in 2025.

The center consists of:

  • Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulation environment
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Driver-in-the-Loop testing capabilities
  • Vehicle integration and prototype build facilities
  • Actuator characterization, durability and validation testing
  • Mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineering
  • Functional safety and cybersecurity development
