Kongsberg Automotive Morse Shanghai Co., Ltd. ( KAMS ) is a part of the Drive Control Systems business, was established in 1995, and was a Joint Venture between DETC – a Nissan-DongFeng company - and Kongsberg Automotive. KA had 75 % of the shares in the JV. In July 2025 Kongsberg Automotive completed the purchase of the remaining 25% stake. Now it is a wholly owned facility by Kongsberg Automotive.
KAMS is located in the PuDong area, close to the PuDong international airport in Shanghai. KAMS is a full service organization, including engineering, sales, program management and purchasing. The factory also exports to external as well as intercompany customers in Asia, Europe and US.
The plant is focused on products to the heavy duty trucks and buses, as well as products to the agriculture and construction industries. The plant produces a wide range of products, including gear shifter systems, ETC pedals, AMT shifter, clutch servos and steering columns.
