Kongsberg Automotive sets a new standard for intelligent, multifunctional displays with the introduction of the KAntrak™ 3700.
Not only is the KAntrak™ 3700 equipped with advanced communications and multifunctional features, the display has a slim, compact and ergonomic design to complement modern vehicle interiors. It is equipped with a 4.3” high resolution color LCD, designed for superb readability in direct sunlight and since it provides a 150° viewing angle, there is no need to compromise on the ideal location upon installation.
KAntrak™ 3700 can read and interpret 3 separate networks, with 2 CAN-bus ports (1 NMEA isolated) and 1 LIN-bus port. There is also a mini USB port and an SD Card slot beneath a waterproof (IP67) hinged door for easy memory expansion, connection to a PC or upgrading application software on the move.
Video input (NTSC/PAL) capabilities comes as standard on the KAntrak™ 3700. This video input can be used with a reversing camera to provide enhanced safety and efficiency, eliminating the need for a separate monitor within the cab. The KAntrak™ 3700 also integrates 3 configurable I/O’s which can be configured as either inputs or outputs, and in any combination to provide full flexibility.
Bluetooth and GPS
Perhaps the most interesting feature included in the KAntrak™ 3700 is Bluetooth. Kongsberg Automotive has chosen to use a dual mode Bluetooth chip to include traditional Bluetooth as well as Bluetooth LE, which is more popular within automotive sensor technology. With Bluetooth and Smartphone connection, the applications are endless with regards to infotainment and system monitoring. The KAntrak™ 3700 also has the option to include a GPS with embedded antenna, which eliminates the need for an external device. The GPS can be used for simple mapping, geo-fencing, tracking, real time clock features as well as true vehicle speed calculations.
Kongsberg Automotive offers several options for software configuration and development. The first and most simple is the plug-and-play GEM (Generic Engine Monitoring) software package. This GEM package recognizes 125 of the most common engine related messages and error codes, including multiple screen viewing modes and multiple language options. There is also a SDK (Software Development Kit) available for those customers that wish to create their own application software. The KAntrak™ 3700 operates with a Linux operating system and there are numerous development tools available to create custom C++ code, common routines, screen layouts and examples to guide the programmers. Kongsberg Automotive also offers custom application programming per specification as a service.
Kongsberg Automotive takes the KAntrak™ product line to a new level with the introduction of the KAntrak™ 3700. The product line already includes the well-established KAntrak™ 2700 mid-sized monochrome display and the recently released KAntrak™ 1700 compact monochrome display, developed for engine monitoring on small engine vehicles and equipment affected by the Tier4 emissions legislation.
