The plant was established in 1983 and moved to its current location in 1995. The main products produced are cables for the OPE (Outdoor Power Equipment) market.
The cables range from drive cables, door props, panel mount, choke, blade engage and brake cables for walk behind and riding lawn mowers. We also produce cables for tillers and snow blowers. With the integration of the Benton facility into Swainsboro this year the plant is also producing light fixture cables, railroad car cables, furniture cables and cables for marine industry along with others. Swainsboro is also producing the pedal for Club Car golf cart. The plant currently employees around 140 employees and will have around 200 employees during the busy season in the 1st quarter of the year.
Our Swainsboro facility is in close proximity to many of our customers to whom we provide products daily. Our central location and our ability to change product lines quickly allow for greater flexibility to meet their fluctuating needs.
