The Original Teleflex business concept of Steel Cable manufacturing started in 1933, under the name of MRC, changing to Teleflex in 1943 and moving from Chadwell Heath to the current Basildon facility in 1954. Under the name Teleflex a 100 year lease was signed, at this time. The facility has had many owners in the last 50 years from the original Teleflex to North American Rockwell in 1970 to IMO (78), Morse Controls (85), then Teleflex Morse in 2001 and finally to Kongsberg Automotive in 2008 as part of the ‘GMS’ acquisition.

Our product offering over this time has also changed starting with Cable, Pedal and Hand controls, Marine Steerer, Engine and Navigation Controls, Car harness Inertia reels, cargo products, display gauges, Aviation Aircraft Supply and Repairs and Architectural Window opening systems for room ventilation, through to our current product offering which still retains the skill set and cable designs of previous years.

Currently we manufacture and supply vehicle control systems, providing quality engineered pedals, electronic displays, cable and hand controls for the world’s foremost manufacturers of commercial, industrial, agricultural and construction vehicles. Also as a niche to Basildon we continue to supply Architectural Window opening systems to construction and building trade.
