Warehouse team leader
“What I have learned is that my attitude has to be as positive as possible in order to do things in the better way, and to achieve the best results"
Position: Warehouse team leader
Plant: Épila, Spain
Joined Kongsberg Automotive: 1995
Favorite car: Audi A6 tourer
Passion for: Listen to music and travel
Jesús Echeverría was in the center of the event when the Épila plant in Spain celebrated its 20th anniversary together with over 300 people earlier this summer. Jesús has been with KA’s Epila plant from the beginning.
Jesús was new to the automotive industry when he started working at KA’s plant in Épila 20 years ago. Épila is located in the province of Zaragoza, which has automotive suppliers and OEMs nearby. Jesús is interested in cars, like the Audi 6 which is his favorite, but that wasn’t what brought him there in the first place.
Passionate about work
After two decades working in the same company, Jesús is deeply familiar with the company culture and with the employees. He finds Kongsberg Automotive an attractive place to be.
“Regardless of what is going to happen and what has happened during these 20 years, I feel happy. There are good and less good days in every job, but I feel comfortable and I like it here,” said Jesús.
KA surprised me because of its size, its many workers and the many plants. It is a multinational company with a lot of business around the world.
Over 300 people work at KA Épila. Activities include production of fluid transfer systems for cars and commercial vehicles, and the team is good at what they do. They received the prestigious Q1 from Ford Motor Company Award earlier this year as a preferred supplier that delivers beyond industry standard requirements.
Jesús is one of the team leaders, and has benefitted from visiting other plants and meeting new people.
“I learnt a lot from those experiences abroad. I saw other plants, met workers from other countries, and received training on tools we use,” said Jesús.
Positive to change
Since the start in 1995, the Epila plant has gone through several acquisitions and changes, and is now among the top 50 companies in the Spanish automotive industry. Jesús has learned the ability to adapt, and he willingly shares from his experience.
“What I have learned is that my attitude has to be as positive as possible in order to do things in the better way, and to achieve the best results. Try to work with the best attitude, and do everything in the best way you can. You have to adapt to the circumstances,” Jesús said.
He is optimistic about the future, and he puts it like this;
“I want the next generations to have the opportunity to continue working here for many years to come”.
